Our Yearly Citrus Blossom Campout

Every year at this time we have a celebration as a family over at our citrus lot, in honor of spring time and the beauty it brings with it. Our trees are blossoming now, and the air smells so sweet and so heavenly. We love having our campout over there in celebration of a new start and new beginning, as the blossoms remind us of a new life about to begin. It is a wonderful tradition we have, especially at this time of year when our thoughts are turned to the celebration of a new life because of our Savior, Jesus Christ and his ressurection. Our Citrus Blossom campouts are a way for us as a family to realize and give thanks for the gift of life after death, and for the blessing of having an eternal family. It's a sentimental time for us, as well as a time to have a lot of fun together. Normally we have all of our extended family here in Arizona with us at these campouts, but this year it was just my sister Heather, my brother in law Chuck and my neice and nephew, Madison and Christopher. We always make a big deal out of it and it's just a lot of fun. These photos are of the first part of the campout, the dinner and the big bon fire. I had to leave and take Tommy home so he could sleep in his crib, but everyone else will be sleeping there tonight. In the morning we have another tradition of going to the local Cafe' and having breakfast together before heading home. We just love being over there, as it is a little piece of heaven on earth for me and my family. Some day our home will be built there, and I will get to smell the blossoms all day and all night during the springtime and not just on special trips over there just to inhale it all. Man! Does is smell good over there! Well, part of the campout is the big fire which Ben loves. We go over a lot just to have a weenie roast and have a fire, but what makes the campout fire special is that Ben keeps it going until the kids fall asleep in their sleeping bags and tents. They love it. These photos are just a few snapshots of our evening.

I love the one of Ben's profile infront of his fire, and the one of him resting with his rake after the fire got going. I love the one of me and Tommy on the swing under the tree, even though you can't see us very well, you can see the surroundings and how pretty it is. ( YOu can even see our little garden in the back). Tommy is at his "curious about everything" stage, and I think the photo of him on the chair captures that perfectly. Well, that's about all I have time for . If anyone wants to join us next year for our Annual Citrus Blossom Campout, we'd love to have you! Love, Erin

This looks like so much fun.
I can't imagine camping yet...too cold.
And I can only imagine the smell of citrus blossoms.
